Jam of the Day- Feb 20, 2012

As I debated whether or not to post this installation of Jam of the Day, I realized if I didn't, I would probably never post on this blog again. Well maybe, but, I'm trying to keep some consistency.

A couple of weeks ago I discovered the local FYE was going out of business, thus, I took advantage of the 40-60% off of merchandise and bought a grip of tunes. A lot of which were bands I wanted to check out and wasn't very familiar with. I found a renewal of musical interest and a new lease on life!!! Well maybe that's a bit dramatic, but I take my music seriously.

The Briggs, a Celtic Punk band formed in Los Angeles in 2001, has found it's way into my collection and won my heart almost instantly. Their music style is much like that of The Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly, incorporating themes of brotherhood, fighting for your rights, or the old country. The anthem, "Back to Higher Ground" stuck out immediately to me and is the jam of the day.
